Talked about for decades now the concept of the smart home is one that has grabbed the attention of science fiction writers the world over but, even though the technology is now emerging to make it a full reality, for many of us having a smart home is having an Alexa smart device in the kitchen chatting to us.

During this keynote I explore the future of communities, home construction, and the home itself, and all within the frame of the technologies that we have on the proverbial truck today.

I start off by exploring the importance of green spaces and how today we’re starting to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help us create greener communities that prioritise people’s mental health, then take a look at the latest 3D printed buildings and materials to create Passive Homes, before turning my attention inside the house and exploring how truly smart homes can help us all live longer, healthier, happier, and more convenient and comfortable lives.
