The Future and Deep Future of AI 2040 | Utilize, UK | Matthew Griffin | Technology Keynote Speaker

WHY THIS MATTERS IN BRIEF

In this keynote Futurist and AI speaker Matthew Griffin explores the other 70% of the future of AI that most people don’t see, and shows what’s next for this world changing technology.

Firstly, thank you again to Guy Hocking, the MD of London based system integrator Utilize Plc, for inviting me back again to share my insights into the near and deep future, and this time we did a deep dive into the future of one of the hottest technologies on the planet right now. I am, of course, talking about Artificial Intelligence (AI) – in all its weird and wonderful forms.

While many people see the future of AI being ostensibly linear, for example, after Generative AI and Agentic AI we progress to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), and then Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI), the future of this exponential technology, whose power and capability is now doubling every six months – is anything but. And this is what I and the audience explored.

While globally there is a huge amount of focus on this orderly development of the technology today it’s lost on many people that AI is the first ever self-developing technology that is capable of designing, optimising, and replicating itself, with each new generation being significantly better than the last. Up until this point human developed technologies have largely been dumb – little more than prosthetics. But, as we dove deeper into the future of AI things get stranger with the development of Quantum AI, Neuromorphic AI, Biological and DNA AI neural networks, and even the first of a kind Liquid and Meta AI’s that have been created within Ionic computers and game engines like Minecraft.

Then, while so many conversations about AI are generic we then dove into the problems of AI Ethics and Regulations, explored the future of AI computing platforms, and so much more.
